yeah, The captcha here hase to stay ( or rather the captchas for posting a reply has to stay).
It rules out the possibility for automated reply's used by bots and others who would spam on the site.
Posting a new topic does not require captcha anymore, thanx for pointing that out Chasso, but after talking with Garembloch we decided to leave these here.
but fear not, we are working on getting a new captcha system, so just bare with us for the time being on this.
And to answer your real question, no, this game is a lot more like the ESF (earth special forces) mod for CS, this one on the other hand is a mod of the ioquake system. its a real working progress, still in beta though, but personally looking forward to a full realese soon.
oh and FYI, yes even in beta you can still LAN the game and play on an online server.
